Double success for Hilton Ames Chauffeurs at 2026 Professional Driver QSi Awards
A night to remember for Britain’s chauffeur, taxi and private hire industry
Exteter-based Hilton Ames Chauffeurs has won the Gold Award in the Community category of the prestigious 2026 Professional Driver QSi Awards, as well as the Bronze Award for Marketing.
Professional Driver Editor Mark Bursa said: “Hilton Ames raised a third of a million pounds to plug a black hole in a local hospice’s budget, and it did so by simply asking its clients to chip in. Its community-focused initiatives include setting up a charity karting league, supporting local sporting events and helping fund and run local food banks.”
“In addition, Hilton Ames makes exemplary use of all available media, including radio, press, social media and its own entertaining newsletters. It makes sure its drivers wax lyrical about the company at every opportunity. The result is solid growth in sales and client numbers.”
Professional Driver magazine’s QSi Awards ceremony was a night to remember for the cream of Britain’s chauffeur and private hire operators. The awards, open to every chauffeur and private hire company in the UK, are designed to recognise operators and individuals that demonstrate excellent standards of Quality, Service and Innovation.
Gold, Silver and Bronze awards were presented in 11 categories at a thrilling event, held at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Brighton last week (Thursday, January 29, 2026).
The 11 categories mean there’s something for every size and type of operator, from one-man bands to large fleets. Categories also reward innovations in marketing, environmental performance and local community activities, while a special award – Professional Driver of the Year – singles out a chauffeur or private hire driver who is judged to be the best in the UK.
Mark Bursa said: “The private hire, taxi and chauffeur industry makes an enormous contribution to keeping Britain moving. This year’s Professional Driver QSi Awards recognise those amazing efforts and bring the industry together for a much-needed night of celebration.”
Mark Bursa continued: “The quality and number of the entries grows every year, and it becomes an ever-more difficult task for our judges to pick our winners. Only very good operators made the short list, so we can be sure our Gold, Silver and Bronze winners are among the very best in Britain.”
